My boy Glen Mason is still out there...

I love the panic on this board because of the rumor mill forcing the Kragthorpe press conference.

People chill, enjoy Thanksgiving, watch Saturday's game, and then see what happens. This will work out one way or the other. And if you can't do that, then drink heavily.

The concern I have for some, however, is whoever is the choice, is if you people will support him, especially from those who wanted Bowden, Kragthorpe or whoever.

Just let the process play itself out.

I will support him as long as he passes one test:

-You walk into a party and mention to people (who know nothing about SMU) that SMU just hired _______________ as their next head coach. If the people say "who is that" then he fails the test.

That's pretty fair and takes into account a lot of names mentioned here (other then the Bowdens). But if Orsini tries to be smart, and pulls this trust me crap, there will be no support. And I don't think that's just me, I have a feeling thats most of you all despite how you feel about me personally. As do I think the larger fan base out there will agree with me. All the Pony Up campaigns in the world won't save a "Trust Me Coach".

As a Mustang Fan, I will support the new coach. I have been positive about practically all potential coaches mentioned. However, when names come up that have or have had possible management issues, I'm going to bring it up because that has been a huge part of our problem. A successful head coach has got to be able to manage the whole team. Sometimes you learn alot about how good a coach is at management after he looses one of his best coordinators and they have be replaced. The successful coaches are good at it and continue with successful programs.

my test is whether 20, 30 or 50 years from now you mention his name and everyone at the university (and hopefully beyond) knows who he is.
I HATE the University of Texas!
