Week 14 Schedule-Should Narrow the list down considerably
could also include BCS Championships in the first week of December I assume he said Coaches-not just head coaches? http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/schedules ... groupId=80
The Missouri Offensive Coordinator Dave Christenson is looking like a better guess every day. No BCS head coach is coming to SMU that is involved in a Championship. Lets count the candidates that this would eliminate (assuming an announcement is not imminent) BOWDEN BOWDEN BOWDEN, Barnett, Nutt, Dodge, Gill, Mason, Johnson, Franchione, Solich, Gibbs
basically Biggin's list
I like Christenson but Chase Daniel is putting his name on the map not vice versa ,I'm afraid. Take Chase away and things would be different at Missouri.
"This is seriously one of the worst takes in the history of the internet. Doherty may be a hot head, a bit of a mess on the bench, and a disturbing disciplinarian, but he can recruit. Its not up for debate. The coaching community and the basketball industry both know this truth. The kids he landed at Kansas, then in his one season at Notre Dame, are not debatable. The way he dropped Guts priority recruits, when he came into an impossible situation at Carolina, and focused on his own kids, was admirable. Many of those kids didn't have Carolina leading, but Doh pulled them, and then they won a title."
He didn't recruit any of those kids at the schools mentioned above? You don't have to recruit at NC, just compete with Duke, and if you can coach you can beat Duke with the players they did not want. I have one question that I have been asking about Doh from the time he was hired. If he is such a good coach, recruiter. What is he doing at SMU? He was fired by his own alma mata. He is not even mentioned in the coaching world of the NCAA. C'mon he can't coach. He was exiled to SMU, so he can try and jumpstart his career. He is a good choice for SMU.
It sure would be ironic if we hired an offensive coordinator now, seeing that our offense is functioning pretty well and our defense is a disaster. Kinda like when we hired Bennett, we had a decent defense back then but we couldn't score a td to save our lives. So it made alot of sense to bring in a defensive coordinator. ![]()
O'Brien at Boston College came from being UVA's OC and he worked out just fine. In fact, he was more like Greg Davis, in that many Virginia fans at the time were saying "don't let the door hit you on the way out, good riddance," etc. But that's the thing, when you hire a coordinator, you never really know what you're going to get.
Re: Orsini
Were you really expecting to have somebody hired before the season was over? If so, you really are clueless.
I think stallion is on to something here..........
I used to just think Bigdaddy was an idiot - but after his "doh cant recruit" posts, now it is proven for me beyond a shadow of a doubt.
He now falls in the category of those mean green posters that dont even require a response - they embarrass themselves so badly you just laugh and let it go.
At no time, whether in person or on tv, have the words "meek" or "unsure" ever come to my mind while viewing Orsini. That is the silliest thing I've ever heard.
.................Total bs....for "meek & unsure" look to the top of the page.
No kidding, the guy is beyond senseless. I'm embarrassed I actually responded to him earlier in this thread “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
