Does Rice even have a band director? If so, it doesn't show.

I predict ... absolutely nothing will happen.

I don't have children, but I'm just being realistic. Even when I was in elementary school kids were using words alot worse than "hell", and I know for a fact some are even using '[deleted]'. My parents used profanity frequently in front of me. Guess what? If a teacher had sent home a note about my language my parents would have tanned my hide.

No kids are going to hear anything for the first time at a football game.

Gimme a break. I hope you're joking. I can turn on the radio and hear much more offensive things than that.

Better be careful - you don't want young children to hear some of the language the soldiers of WWII used!

I felt the same way until I had children. Yes it's an uphill battle. But you do it out of love.

What the Rice band did was offensive and wholly inappropriate given the context of a public forum where one could reasonably expect many small children and elders. The MOB -- who I usually really like -- deserve the probable punishment coming their way.

The path to hell is paved in good intentions?

While I agree that the choice word "[deleted]" was inappropriate given the forum, I find Tulsa's complaints laughable. It would be one thing if their outrage was limited to the word of choice. However, their outrage is directed at the entire halftime show. They may not like the association of their coach with Dante's Inferno, but that was an ingenious skit. I do not condone the word "[deleted]" being used at a college sporting event and would be supportive of a complaint of that. On the other hand Tulsa loses credibility by attacking the entire skit. Like it or not, it is not an unfair association.

Someone please have Tulsa consult with the Farmers down south. The MOB has been irritating Aggies for years. It all started 34 years ago when they formed a fire hydrant for Reveille the week she died. They also goose stepped on the field. The Corps cornered the MOB and they had to get a police escort out of the stadium. Maybe the Aggies were mad because the MOB had Marvin Zindler (who helped close the Chicken Ranch down) perform a twirling act.

ONLY AT RICE

BTW, We are talking about a university that elected a refigerator as its homecoming king/queen. (Darth's memory can't remember everything).

Except that I bet this is pretty tame compared to what they did back in their heyday.

Sadly, it seems like th only college bands people like today are the ones that act like glorified high school bands...blech
The donkey's name is Kiki.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?
