That's like stealing that hot girlfriend from your best friend, who you know stole her from another friend.
She's good for one semester, but is she really loyal to you? Don't you think that he's going to bolt after his first winning season here, be it 7-5? and don't you just know that any of his recruiting will be dirty recruited by the other coaches (hey, he'll be leaving within 2 years)??
I don't think so, not my choice.
Todd Graham = Franchione if he does that
If the goal is to score with a hot girl, then I think it is ok, plus your friend will forgive you when he sees how much of a skank the girl was to begin with.
the problem will always be that 'he hit that shi-t first!"

I have been married to my college roommate's ex-girlfriend for seven + years now.

I hear what you are saying, but don't think you become successful worrying about "oh my God he's so good he might leave".
Plus all the other places he bolted from weren't "home".
But hey thats just my opinion, and I respect yours too.

Begger's can't be choosers, and right now we are the filthy bums on the street corner that just happens to have a rich uncle looking out for us.
The donkey's name is Kiki.

Assuming he hasn't lost all credibility with potential recruits, it might not be such a bad thing if he's only here for 2 years or so. If he can come in, boost the talent level, and make an immediate impact on the W/L record, we might be a much more attractive job when he does leave.

Also, recall, the one-time breakup is not comparable to the two-time break up...he has a 'history' of going to the bigger better deal.

Oh, Graham will tell you he is home in Tulsa.
You convince people Graham will stay with an excessively long contract with an excessively large buyout.
Houston Nutt changed jobs twice in two years; worked out OK for Arkansas, sort of. He was there 9 years.

I had a roommate snake a girlfriend once. Really ticked me off, and then he tried to make up for it when I started make passes to this other girl, he started calling her to "talk me up". That scared her off. I told him, just let me hook up in my own way, and then if he wants to snake that one just let me know in advance so I can at least tap it a few times before I lose it.

Is that your 'GOAL' for this next hire?
My goal is to get someone that will increase EVERYTHING to a sustainable level...and stay for more than 2 years.

I know the feeling.
"Where's my money, Brian" - Stewie, beating the crap out of Brian in the bathroom
"It's not that I want her dead, it's just that I don't want her to be alive, anymore..." - Stewie, reflecting on how he wants his mother, Lois, to be.

Of course that isn't my goal, but we have to accept the fact that we might not be able to lure a 'sure thing' coach down here at this point. We are a true cellar, and we don't know how much money the Hunts et. al. have agreed to spend.
I'd rather go this route than to hire an unproven head coach and 'take a chance' again.
