DMN Blog: Hey, SMU what's taking so long?

While North Texas alum Tim MacMahon makes good points, maybe he should ask his co-worker why she hasn't been covering the story that appears to be getting bigger by the day.

If rumors are true, this is starting to make me feel like Orsini's target is an NFL coach. While college coaches with a game or two left are likely to announce their intentions to leave, there are still 5 games remaining in the NFL regular season...seems likely such a candidate may not want to seemingly "jump ship" this early...

Sure didn't seem to be a problem for Sherman to "jump ship" this early.

That is because Kate is useless but at least she was cheap which is the main reason why the DMN kept her around.

For those of us with children who are special needs and could participate in the Special Olympics, please stop being an [deleted] right now.
Kate would be lucky to cover such an event.
And so would you to attend it.

No offense intended OC and I do apologize for such a remark. I've always had a real respect for parents of special needs children. I realize they are probably better parents than I could hope to be. So again I apologize for such a flippant, callous remark.

Thanks. No worries.
And to lighten things a little, I posted a reply to Kate's blog.

This isn't one of those times.

The Special Olympics are nice and reaffirming and mean a lot to the participants and their families, but they are not in any way comparative to the Olympic Games. I can understand how a reporter would want to cover the Olympics and if you are the SMU beat writer, you might very well get the chance to cover the Olympics due to the local angle with SMU swimmers and women's track athletes and equestrian riders possibly participating. We used to also have men's track athletes participating, but alas.

I love the reply by Coach Fran on the blog! That's funny. Probably Gordo.
