Extra ticket at Tulsa Game?I may make the trip up from Arkansas to see the game Saturday. Will anyone in the SMU section have an extra ticket I could buy if I make it? I'd hate to sit in a hostile section.
Long live Inez Perez!
Re: Extra ticket at Tulsa Game?Yeah I was kinda just planning on buying tickets at the gate. What section are the SMU fans sitting in? Thanks ahead for replies.
From high on the hilltop, in Big D...
Re: Extra ticket at Tulsa Game?At Skelly Stadium as with most stadiums the opposing fans are on the East side of the stadium looking into the sun.
http://tulsahurricane.ocsn.com/marketplace/tickets/tickets-skellychart.html In the past there have not been big crowds for TU Football. So buy a ticket for the East side and look for the fans in Red and Blue.
Re: Extra ticket at Tulsa Game?I am not sure where people bought their tickets, but the visiting team allotment is usually in section T or U. (I think it's U, but it might be T.)
Re: Extra ticket at Tulsa Game? The SMU ticket office says most of the SMU Fans are in section T for the Tulsa game this weekend.

Re: Extra ticket at Tulsa Game?Nice work with the map.
Will there be enough TU fans there for it to be "hostile"? I'd assume we'll be able to move all over the place, right? I bet we could almost sit on the bench, if we want. See you all there!
Re: Extra ticket at Tulsa Game?It will be hostile. It's also homecoming, which will probably boost attendance. Closer to the game, someone on the TU board calls the ticket office to see how many tickets are sold, so later this week, a more definate number should be known, but I'm guessing that there could be 18-20K there minimum. You may be able to move wherever, but you will be met with hostility and the sections between the 35 yard lines or so is usually quite full. Endzones are spotty, but mostly empty. The upper levels on the west side are usually pretty empty-- as are the corners. The shot below is from halftime, so quite a few people left to go eat, etc, but I think you can see what I just described. These are the west side seats being shown. East side is basically the same, but reversed. You won't be able to sit on the bench. The TU students site behind the SMU bench in sections R and S. Section Q behind the bench is usually fairly open, but EXTREMELY hostile. Depends on how much you are willing to take. However, if TU is up by a bit, I'd expect the hostility level to be lower than if it is a close game. I know-- more than you really wanted to know. [ 10-22-2003, 08:09 AM: Message edited by: TUfan ]
Re: Extra ticket at Tulsa Game?Skelly Stadium Capacity: 40,385
4 year Football Average Game Attendance: 19,366 You should be able to sit just about anywhere you want.
Re: Extra ticket at Tulsa Game? This year's attendance is up slightly-- around 21K average for four games I think. See description above.
Re: Extra ticket at Tulsa Game?bumping this for classof81
Re: Extra ticket at Tulsa Game?By hostile, I don't see anything happening unless someone runs their mouth. TU fans are pretty passive people, but if someone plays the "At least I don't attend a junior college" like I heard at Moody a few years ago, I wouldn't worry about anything. TU fans have a pretty solid respect for SMU, since they are our closest WAC / C-USA "rival."
