Good point - When Paul Johnson took over at Navy, they had won only one game in 2 years.
First yr, 2 wins
2nd yr, 8 wins
3 yr, 10 wins
4 yr 8 wins
5 yr, 9 wins
All at a school that has similar problems

Since 2003, Navy has played
TCU, Vandy, ND, Tx Tech, Stanford, Colorado State, ND, TCU
They play an independent schedule but not a weak one..Impressive record

I admittedly dont know much about PJ, but consistently putting up 8+ wins at navy is pretty damn solid

dude i've followed football long enough to know that I'd trade you Jimbo Fisher if So.Miss signs him for PJ anyday of the week. I remember watching PJ outcoach Jim Tressell in a D1-AA championship game like nobody i've ever seen before. Ga. Southern who PJ was coaching dominated Youngstown St who was coached by Jim Tressell beating them 59-24..

I don't think there is one poster on this board that doubts PJ's coaching ability.
It is his recruiting ability that worries me.
I would rather have Fran, especially given his JC and Texas connections.

I guess I'm starting to warm up to the idea of Paul Johnson. He has done much with little.
Hell, his name was even mentioned on the LSU boards as a possible replacement for Miles (although his name was pretty low on the wish list).

I agree with So Cal though on the recruiting issue. I want a name that inspires players to give us a look the moment they announce it
