Got to wonder why this kid even named a commit? why not just wait?

This is the definition of a "soft" commit. Kind of defeats the purpose of committing doesnt it? I bet that commitment gets softer by the second.

New Rivals article indicates that Fuller is still "committed." At least he hasn't decommitted, yet! "I don't know if SMU's going to be in the picture. TCU was never really my second choice. I made my decision a little early when I committed to SMU. I was trying to decide between the two of them and that was the big breaker when all of those coaches were fired." He is going to see TCU, then Vanderbilt, and now Northwestern might be in the picture.

For what it's worth, he followed the "I'm still committed" comment with "I haven't decommitted yet." SMU is the best fit. Great school, great scenery, great weather (scratch Northwestern off that list), no silly sequin palaces nearby (scratch Vandy) and no swamps of idiocy (scratch Froggy High).
This guy would be wise to wait and see who the next coach is. If the next coach is not a guy he thinks he can/wants to play for, fine. But more and more people who are a lot closer to this search than I am are saying the next coach will be a name coach who will instantly make some players want to consider SMU. Fuller might have gotten lucky by claiming a spot early on and then ending up with a stud coach.
I really shouldn't drink and type.

The big question is will Stallion approve of him?

I'm really surprised that he didn't at least wait for the dust to settle from the coaching search.

I'm not. SMU was fallback for him at best. He just wanted to make sure he had a scholarship. And Bennett's status was such that Bennett couldn't insist that Fuller make a real commitment or be on his way.

Also Orsini made it clear on the Blvd that he called all of the recruits and basically said "you are either with us or against us". When the recruit questioned our committment to them, he questioned their committment to us. I liked it.
Oh, and we did not want him anyway.

Shocking that our best recruit went elsewhere. Not one of Orsini's greatest momments. That should never have been brought up because Orsini does not have a Coach to sell that line.

How could we have called him a serious commitment when it was so shaky to start with. I never really felt like he was in this class.

After watching the tcu offense, how could anyone want to go there?

He is not coming to TCU to play offense. He is a much better defender than a WR and had over 100 tackles out of the safety position along with 8 picks. Also lined up as a DE.
