New bar - Capitol Pub

next to the old Jerry's on Henderson. good bar. have hangover today.

"New bar alert: Capitol Pub
Capitol Pub opened last week at Henderson and Belmont. It├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼├óΓÇ₧┬ós the newest addition from the folks who own The Old Monk, Idle Rich and Tecole. (I could make some sort of Dallas bar-scene monopoly joke here, but I won├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼├óΓÇ₧┬ót.)

A friend who├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼├óΓÇ₧┬ós been said the place is sunnier and more open than the ├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼├ï┼ôMonk and the ├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼├ï┼ôRich. The room is basically one big rectangle, and there are a lot of windows.

On tap are lot of upscale English, Belgian and Canadian (!) beers, plus whiskeys and the usual American brews. The menu├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼├óΓÇ₧┬ós supposed to be great, too ├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼" yummy French toast and corned beef hash for brunch (they├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼├óΓÇ₧┬óve got brunch on Saturday and Sunday), AND├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼├é┬ª fried blue cheese-stuffed olives. I just read the entire menu on the website and I want to go right now. Maybe I can convince a certain husband to eat dinner with me there later.

As for the parking situation, my friend says there├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼├óΓÇ₧┬ós a parking lot behind bar. And apparently you can use the Jerry├â┬ó├óΓÇÜ┬¼├óΓÇ₧┬ós lot until all the retail crap moves in."

great food. had their version of a french dip (drunken steak sandwitch) and onion rings. very good. worth going back for.

did try the fried olives. not anything special. actually not good.

politely request one of the admins/webmasters/whathaveyous to help you out. give good reason and don't pick a name next go-round that is tied to something that can change in time.

Highly coincidental, a friend at the gym was telling me about this place when I went to work out this morning. Not naming names, but one of you guys isnt a former SMU football player who got his MBA at UT, are you?
