He's a great football coach, i've seen him outcoach some of the best coaches in the game. Beat Jim Tressell head on 59-24 once when he was at Ga.Southern... Also remember him schooling Georiga and Jim Donnan while he was at Ga.Southern... The man can flat out coach football... And while I understand the worry about his defense, The Navy defense was great before this year.. They only had 1 starter coming back from last season. His offense will hold on to the ball for minutes at a time, while all those other teams in the WEST love to throw the ball around 30 to 40 times a game. SMU you will wear out those defenses in the west.

If EVERYONE is running the Spread, then NO ONE will be prepared to face a Triple option.

This offense might not win a BCS Championship, but its a gimmick offense that gets us winning.

When we ran the Run and Shoot it gave us a chance to win when no one else was running it.

Stallion, answer this: you think that no WR QB or RBs will want to come run this fun offense, and I see the reasoning (number of touches). But this is a fun offense...

It's NOT LIKE we've been recruiting the crap out of WRs since we've been running the SPREAD.

So, if the 'model' has been fixed 95% as far as incoming is concerned, why couldn't this work? Its basically worked for the service academies for YEARS when the had good coaches (Fisher Deberry, Paul Johnson).

I'll take 8-9 wins for 3 years and then watch our talent level rise as interest in our team rises - and we can transition to more and more balanced attack if need be.

Johnson will move the ball around, and it will be impossible to defend. Its funny to listen to idiots defend the spread and say we have a team set up to run the spread. We were tossing the ball to Zach Sledge all season, and running Willis every other play, w/o design.

Thats hardly having integral parts to a great spread. Johnson will have this team competitive quickly and will win big soon. He's that good

Because we couldn't run block Pony! We tried all season long to run the football, we could not. The only thing we could do was throw it for 25 TD's and 3000 yards. Sanders had several 100 yd games and seveal TD's. Zack had several good games as well. JWill did run for damn near 1000 minus the sack yardage. Where the hell are you getting your info. Most of JWills runs were running for his life. We better stick to throwing it quick and find a defense quick.
