Orsini is a Pro

Postby SWC Grey Hair » Fri Nov 30, 2007 11:20 am

It is beyond belief what Orsini has accomplished in this search. I know we haven't announced a hire yet but to compare the quality of the candidates to what one would expect with our recent history is amazing. Remember he not only has quality candidates interested but he raised the money to lure them which is no small feat for a non BCS program. The new coach will be the highest paid employee ever for SMU so don't anyone tell me we are not committed. A new day is dawning for the Mustangs. I hope I am around a few more years to enjoy the journey to the top.
Also, don't think Johnson is the only one he currently has his sites on. Steve always has several equal candidates in play so we won't be left standing at the altar. Who knows, maybe Johnson is not his primary target. The next week should be fun to watch it all unfold.

Agreed. But it is amazing what you can do with $10 million.

Good post. The fact that we are in the running for guys like Paul Johnson, Rick Neuheisel, and others is a testament to Orsini. I have faith he will make the right hire.
Back off Warchild seriously.
