But if a BCS school makes an offer to Johnson, would that not kill Stallion's case that there is a reason no BCS school wants him? Somebody quick, go to the Georgia Tech board and mention the best kept secret in coaching.....Gary Gibbs!!!!

rumors, rumors, and more rumors......I will believe it when I see it. Regardless of whom the new coach is next season, we all agree it is time for a change. The names discussed so far have been upgrades over the coaches we have had in the past (proven winners). It appears SMU is starting to get what it takes to compete in Div. 1-A football. Let's hope the new coach (whoever it may be) stands firm on making SMU change its recruiting policies (transfers, curriculum, etc.) as a condition of hire (like what Doherty did with the new bb practice facility).

the more Navy pours it on in the 2nd half, the higher the price tag for Johnson. I don't see SMU winning a bidding war.

I'm not sure that having the top rushing team in the country beat the crap out of one of the worst Run defenses is really going to have that much effect on BCS demand for Johnson.

Well we know that GT will never hire Johnson because they got rid of Gailey because he was too dull and Stallion has told us how dull Johnson is. No charisma no GT job.

We'll see. Past relationships aside, I've never had the feeling Johnson was Steve-O's guy.
Remains to be seen.

I say we still get stuck with our Johnson because I don't believe he will get an offer from a BCS school that isn't Duke. Hopefully Duke comes up big. I will happily admit I'm wrong at that one if it proves true-and laugh my [deleted] off at Georgia Tech.

I haven't gone through all the garbage threads here lately. Who would you propose at this point aside from Gill? I would love to have him too.
