they REALLY need to be playing their championship game at one of the participating teams' home field. Lots of empty seats in Jacksonville today. I'm sure when the city bid for this game, they were hoping for FSU v Miami, but it just looks like bush league compared to the SEC and I am assuming what the Big XII will turn out tonite

UCF will be the next BCS team if there is one. The Big East I'm sure is ecstatic over the addition of USF although it took a long term view to add them. UF will be analyzed similarly.

How much credit does Orsini get for putting them in a favorable position? The hiring of O'Leary and the spearheading of the new stadium. Granted there's a lot of heavy lifting being done without him, plus the big student body.

was just mentioned that they were in their last year of having the game in Jacksonville...so im sure the ACC is going to go back to the war room to figure out how to fill up a stadium for sh1tty championship games

Charlotte still interested but same problem if they don't have Clemson or UNC in that game

It's hard to say that doing a home championship game is better than having cities bid on hosting it.
Do you think the Big 12 game will have a lot of empty seats tonight in San Antonio? I doubt it.
I think the ACC could have done a better job of picking a host city. I'm sure Jacksonville is nice, but Miami or Orlando is better for tourists. So is San Antonio or Dallas.

the big difference between the fans in the BIG 12 and other conferences is the support for other teams...you'll see fans in the stands that will have UT shirts and KU shirts...Big 12 always draws a huge crowd

The ACC Championship game should always be held in the mid atlantic region, like Charlotte. ACC fans will not travel to Florida. They still do not consider it part of the ACC.

good point. i don't understand what makes j-ville so attractive in terms of holding championship games and other special events like UF-UGA and FSU-Bama. its a crappy stadium and nobody likes the city of j-ville
i wouldn't travel either if i was from BC

BUT- i dont think they should play it at the home field of the team with a better record. it really should be at a pre-set place in a central location
