One thing I don't do is root for failure by the people in charge. What you are doing is the offseason equivalent of rooting for SMU to lose so that SMU will fire the coach. That makes you a turd.

Just wondering, but how can you be so sure?? Because I happen to be in a unique situation this year that I would happen to know what is going on.
With SMU or with PJ?

Is there an echo in here?
And actually blogster, if the people in charge were focused solely on Chan Gailey right now wouldn't you be rooting for failure?

No, I would be questioning their judgment. Just as I would question a coaching decision to, say, bench a QB in favor of somebody else. I would not root for the kid to fail. I would root for the kid to succeed.
Big difference.

My bad, I thought you said if they hired Gailey you were done or words to that effect. Surely you'd rather they fail in luring Chan than be done with SMU?

You summed it up perfectly.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

Oh Come on Blog you were crying like a little baby about Chan Gailey. I don't want Orsini to pick Johnson you don't want him to pick Gailey. Were you drunk when you thought up that argument? And I have never hoped SMU lost a thing which makes YOU are TURD for making up two stupid arguments

I did root for us to lose so we could move on from Bennett.

I thought Gailey would be terrible. I still do. Ultimately, it ain't my call, though. One thing, I didn't do is make stuff up about him. I certainly wouldn't high five my neighbor if Duke went out hired him before Orsini could get a deal done if that is what he was thinking.
