Bennet did not want him under 320.

Brooks is losing weight also because he would rather play tackle.

Sounds like Braden Smith has gained some weight!

We need not discuss players who have not earned the right to play on Saturdays. This is not HS football. The redshirts we have must work their butts off to get to the next level. Some of them were pushed around by the DLine we put on the field this year. Whats up with that? I would be shocked if any see the playing field this next season.

Then here's hoping you get a big shock next year in that there are some that hope some of the redshirts do get some playing time next year. Regardless if they get to play next year or not, we are free to discuss pretty much anything on this board from what I've seen lately.

True that, but like I said the kids are not ready. If you ask them honestly, they will tell you. 300lbs, they should have been playing this year. There are freshman and sophs all over the country starting on the Oline and Dline. We need the big 300 lbers now. If they can play, bring it on. What I have heard from players is that they are soft and it will take some time. Be patient and be real.

Unless we get some juco's, we won't have any choice but to play some redshirt freshmen on the 0-line.

We will be thin but we have enough lineman to run and offense. We have Mitch, Chase Smith, Tommy Poynter, Ross Nigh, and Sean Lobo. That is just 5. Some of the freshman better step up? I hope they are ready. Time will tell.

Let's HOPE Chase Smith returns to health. He has two bad knees, and a injured shoulder. Ross Nigh will be a 4th year junior, that hasn't been on the field yet.

I can only speak for myself about what was told to me and my son by Bennett. He assured us that he would do everything he could to keep him from playing this year. Sitting out the first year is extremely helpful. Even Tray Allen sat out this year, I believe. But the offensive line is one of the hardest places for true freshmen to make a difference. You are correct, this is not high school and these guys must learn the "college" way. They did not learn SMU college plays because they were too busy learning the upcoming opponents' plays in order to fulfill the duties of a scout team. I am patient. Just disappointed like everyone else that hoped for a bowl this year. Here's hoping the next coach will have them all ready next year.

Hey, tell you son to work hard!! Kicking [deleted] is kicking [deleted], I don't care what classification you are. I tell people this, if your 11 can line up and kick my 11 [deleted], you win the game. Tell him to kick [deleted] everyday and he will play. PB was wrong! You play the players that give you the best chance to win.

I will give him the message. It's the same message I gave him before every high school game he played in and I believe the same message some of his coaches gave him, too!
