Jeff Bower.....Why Not?

Gents-

I noticed Jeff Bower's name hasn't been mentioned all that much on this board and I am curious as to why?

Bower has been to 10 bowl games in the last 11 years at Southern Miss. He also has a high graduation rate, which would be looked at favorably by our administratio.

Additionally, I don't think his base salary was all that much at Southern Miss (I saw $250K but that could be dated) so I'm sure we could obtain his services and not be outbid.

Bower was also the QB coach here back in the mid 80's.

119-82-1 is not a bad record at Southern Miss and there is no question he can both recruit and win.

I don't believe this would be a bad hire at all, but wanted be interested to hear what the rest of you believe and why he isn't mentioned.

Bingo! He was on Bobby Collin's staff that landed us the DP!

Try the search tool next time because once it was announced he was canned, his name popped up...but its not happening

Plus, hes coaching USMs bowl game, so that would be an indication that hes not going to be coaching a new team anytime soon...

ok. That makes sense. Was he directly tied to the DP?

However, he has run a pretty clean program (to my knowledge) for over a decade.
