Duke

Duke would love to get Navy's Paul Johnson. The school will pay more than $1 million per year for its next coach, a source close to the school told me. But Johnson thinks he can get something better.

Also says that Johnson is on Gerogia Tech lenghty list as well

SMU should be able to top the $1 mill from everything we are hearing

Since the Navy Sports Boosters make his payroll, they generally report he is over that amount right now.

Johnson's salary was raised to ~1.8 mil last year.

For example, Navy coach Paul Johnson, who was a candidate this week to take over at North Carolina State before the school settled on Boston College coach Tom O’Brien, is reportedly close to getting a sizable raise that would bump his incentive-laden salary to nearly $1.8 million.

Who knows how much we'd have to pay directly to Navy to buy him out of his 6 year contract with them? Probably at least half of the 10 mil we've raised for a new coach.

We could get Troy Calhoun from Air Force for much cheaper. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up heading down that road after all.
