I am stunned to wake up and see nothing by Katie Papadopoulos. I would call her Katie Hippopotamus, but that would be derogatory to our purple friend.

Maybe there just isn't anything to report...

The runaway kangaroo in Lewisville knocked our Hippo coverage off the radar today.

She could have reported on the feeding frenzy at ponyfans.com. I am sure she was watching it all day.

thats what was so beautiful about yesterday

we don't really need the old school media anymore.

well....we may need them, but not nearly like in the past when
we waited around for their words of wisdom because that was
about all we had

look at what we did with the power of the internet yesterday

we(PonyFans) became the reporters.....we broke the plane story.....
we had people at the airport.....we had people at Ford Stadium
snooping around......Kate is looking to us for stories.....wow
what a role reversal!

all that tracking of the plane and researching other sources,
other message boards.......would have been virtually impossible
just a few years ago......to the youngsters......they dont really
know anything different.....but to those of us a bit older......it's
still an amazing thing to watch the power of the internet.

kudos to PonyFans yesterday for being pretty kicka$$!

I checked out the Morning news site very early Eastern time and was flabbergasted there was no mention of yesterday or at least an update.

Of course, the newspaper is mostly irrelevant now. This is typical of why that is so.

I recommend that someone on this board that actually has SMU press credentials start lining up the 1st interview with the new coach and then with Orsini. Then, when the stories are carried on the various blogs and Ponyfans, then Kate can piece together her story and run it in the DMN.

Why would she report anything? For all we know, we worked ourselves into a unnecessary frenzy. It could be true, but it might not. Unless she has a more credible source than what we were going on yesterday, she really shouldn't post anything from a journalist point of view...

Yeah, but there has been less than one article per week about the coaching search since this whole thing started. There is something to report, she just hasn't gone out and found it.

After Nebraska fired Bill Callahan, there were multiple stories each day from every newspaper in the state. I'm not asking for that (nor do I think that we deserve that) but the hometown paper covering the only D1 school in the city might ought to consider doing some investigating and write 2 or 3 articles a week about it....uh......maybe?

Just because Orsini isn't leaking doesn't mean there is nothing to find out. There is always someone willing to leak something.

Will she share the byline with PonyPride?
