Announcement and Marketing

Postby Pony in SA » Tue Dec 04, 2007 9:44 am

If and when new coach announcement comes, wouldn't it be good PR to send an e-mail to all football season ticket holders and those who made dontations to football team a little bit ahead of the announcement for the press conference? Kinda a way to say thank you for those who have stuck with the program, garner good will for those fans, and increase support. Hope someone has thought how to do this right from a fan PR and marketing standpoint.

By good friend here who is a Nebraska alum got one such e-mail prior to Pelini hire. I think we should do the same or something similar.

It would be a great idea. I might even drive over for it. But I'm not holding my breath.

Not going to happen. This marketing department has their collective heads so far up their collective butts it's not even funny. Now, I wouldn't put it past our great Alma Mater to have their fun auto calls from Indian call centers put out the hit for donations at 10:30 P.M., like they have been doing incessantly for the past month.

You'd think the Mustang Band and cheerleaders and Peruna would be informed to show up to welcome the new coach.

The Mustang Band... absolutely! Real Peruna... you bet! The 42+ cheerleaders and Boring Peruna have got "more important" things to do. (somebody needs to take that costume away from him).

How many band/cheerleaders would actually show?
I say 4-5, and they'd be sending text messages the whole time.
