the atlanta all sports radio station just came back
from break and went over the headlines, along with other headline topics this was basically what the radio jock said: Jon Tenuta and Navy's Paul Johnson appear to be the finalist for the Georgia Tech job. C-ya @ Milos!
And GT knows that they can get Tenuta for $500,000 who apparently must stay on as DC no matter what, and a bag of peanuts. Or do they want to open the bank to get Johnson and keep Tenuta as DC? I'd say there are some heavy sighs in Georgia Tech land tonight. Briefcase #1 or Briefcase #2. Hmmm.

if thats true and it comes down to Tenuta or PJ don't ya think we are done?
i mean who in their right mind would pick jon tenuta over PJ? C-ya @ Milos!
That may be all they are left with after PJ turns them down. At least 2 other people already have, if not more. The question should be who in their right mind would pick GT over SMU? For less money? An angry fan base that will get you fired for going to five straight bowls? And won't even show up to games when you are winning? A team that is willing to pay $4 million to get rid of a winning coach that just wasn't "flashy" enough? And, I repeat, less money?
husker....if PJ says no.......you really think all Georgia Tech could get would be Tenuta?
that guy's never even been a HC has he? C-ya @ Milos!
Don't think that's what happened and industrious soul (not Darth) did some investigating and it appears that GT's plane went to BWI this morning and left around 2:30 our time. The meeting was called at that time. Ok...specualte
For the record, the report was on 680, and the verbiage was more of a "sounds like Paul Johnson will most likely be the next head coach at GT...", most likely due to the fact that his competion is the aforementioned Tenuta.
Honestly, I would be surprised if the GT AD lets him out of ATL without a firm decision....I understand he's a man who seeks a challenge and sticks to his morals, but if it's the money that is keeping SMU in the race, I sure hope he's got a greedy side as well...
I don't understand what you are saying. Left where at 2:30? What do you mean by "called?"
It appears that appears is in italics. "Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid." John Wayne
"Context clues and common sense can take you a long way in life." Anthony Cann
Left BWI. The Navy board 30 minutes later was reporting the Navy staff emergency meeting..
I think he's only been a coordinator, as far as I know. That doesn't make him a bad hire. Nebraska just took Pelini out of LSU, and Osborne was only a coordinator when he started. As far as that being the only thing they can get.....don't know. They seem to be getting turned down by a lot of people. Edsall choosing to stay at UCONN? Come on, GT would have to be a better job than that. Something must be wrong with the deal they are offering. Although, I think they have done what the idiot at Nebraska did firing Frank Solich. You fire a coach, the expectations are that you have to be better than the last guy, so when you fire someone who has been relatively successful, especially with the reasoning that he just wasn't "flashy" enough, why would anyone want to take that job? Nebraska got their 4th choice after that fiasco, and look how that turned out! Sounds like they have too many requirements for a coach to keep his job there: keep Tenuta on staff, beat Georgia at all cost, actually get people to come to the games (they seem to have worse attendance than we do and they have a winning program,) and win more than 7 games every year, but when you do it, you do it flashy. Tall order in a BCS conference at a school with some academic constraints.
