A Letter from the 'Spirit Coordinator/Cheer Coach' at SMU

SMU Alumni Cheerleader,

Hello all! I hope this letter finds you doing well. It is that time once again. HOMECOMING! Our football team is not doing as well as we had hoped, so we are looking for all the help with spirit we can find. We know we will be able to pick up towards the end of the season! So, we are calling all cheerleaders!

Our Homecoming game is on November 1 at 2:00 PM at Gerald J. Ford Stadium against Fresno State. This could prove to be a tough game and we need all the support you can offer. We need you yelling, cheering, tumbling???, and stunting???, or OK, it would be great if you just came wearing your Red, White and Blue to show your support!

We will meet at Doak Walker Plaza at 1:30 for a quick 'Pep Rally.' You can also pick up your SMU Alumni Cheerleader T-shirt to wear to the game. As soon as half time begins we would like to have everyone wear their new T-shirts and pose for a great photo on the sidelines. Just make your way down to the field as soon as half time begins. Make sure you sign in with your current name and address so we can mail you a copy of the great picture. We are always updating our alumni database. If you know of anyone who may have been overlooked or did not receive this important information, could you please have them contact me so they won't miss out in the future.

Reunions are a great way to revisit lost friendships and make new ones. We all have something very unique in common and the current cheerleaders are excited about the chance to see you all again and to meet those of you we have not yet had the privilege to meet.
