C-USA

Postby Nacho » Tue Oct 28, 2003 9:38 am

I was wondering what you guys thought about La Tech vs UCF going to C-USA. Apparently UCF is either undecided or hasn't been offered. I can't tell which. Personally I like the idea of La Tech in C-USA, but that's probably because they are closer and I am more familiar with them. Any thoughts?

I'd prefer LaTech, too. Location, location, location.

That move may take Tulane out of our side of the division. I would not like to see that happen.

Orlando vs. Ruston. You make the call. If I'm ESPN would I rather a game with a top 30 Market team vs. a team from a Top 200 Market team? If I'm CUSA would I listen to ESPN? Probably. If UCF wants to join CUSA, they'll get the invite. The only thing in La. Tech's favor is its Women's basketball program. That means some NCAA units (not much) from the tournament. On the other hand, if La. Tech doesn't get into CUSA, it means Rhonda's Fillies have a chance to go to the dance.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Probably the only way La Tech would get in is if TCU goes to MWC. Actually, in that senerio even UNT would probably get a look. Either way Tulane would still be in the western division...I hope. I would love to go to the Big Easy for an away game every other year.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

despite my continued wariness of TCU and the MWC, CUSA is shaping up very, very well. There are rumors from the Marshall fans that CUSA is going to get some BCS access in the next round. For selfish reasons I would like to see La Tech as the 12th, but I think UCF is the better choice due to market and league balance. An even better scenario though would bring Navy in as football only #12 and keep Charlotte for basketball. Wouldn't it be great if Navy was our permanent cross-over rival in the East division of CUSA?

so we could beat them on the road, then lose by 30 at home the following year (this has happened more than once)
