NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE?
SMU's long, long wait continues
SMU’s search for a football coach is going on 40 days. Top target Paul Johnson doesn’t appear in a hurry to make a decision.
The Navy coach is weighing opportunities at Duke, Georgia Tech and SMU. And he could always stay in Annapolis, where he’s well-compensated.
Athletic director Steve Orsini knew full well that he had tough competition before giving Johnson a Hilltop tour on Tuesday. The only thing that surprises me about the situation is that Johnson is still mulling things over, keeping four football programs in limbo.
Some folks around town have started scoffing that SMU can’t find anybody that wants to be its coach. Even after raising some $10 million.
I give Orsini credit for aiming high. Many people I’ve chatted with in the past month have been impressed with his aggressive determination to land the right coach. I can’t believe he doesn’t have a solid backup plan.
SMU fans - are you losing faith? Or can you just not take it anymore?

The only thing I'm real sick of is all the "trash blog talk" from the DMN. I hope Orsini's next job, after securing our football program with a great coach, is to influence the DMN to stop all the ""trash talk" their terrible writers love to throw out about SMU. The DMN needs some reporters covering SMU that aren't constantly putting out a bunch of unfair junk......I love free speech, but the DMN has become so bias against SMU it is rediculous.

She wouldn't have known that if I hadn't started the Ponyfans Held Hostage thread. Don't worry, Kate...I'm keepin' count for ya!Pony^ wrote:SMU’s search for a football coach is going on 40 days.
