I bet he's the frontrunner, and we could do a LOT worse.
Weasel though he may be, he has rejuvenated programs before.

If we're now talking to coaches with "past history," I'd still rather have Slick Rick or Barnett, but you won't hear me complain if we bring in Fran.

All of these former HCs have baggage. You might not want them to date your daughter but these guys have won and can recruit. After 20 years of wandering in the wilderness I can handle a little baggage.

There wasn't even a link to an unsubstantiated article on that. Plus it said we had only talked to him informally, which probably means he contacted the search firm. (See Gary Barnett, Rick Neuheisel, Terry Bowden, Turner Gill, Steve Kragthorpe, Troy Calhoun, etc........I think we have talked to every coach in the country "informally".)

Agreed. A little hypocritical for a program trying to resurrect itself not to allow a coach second chance as well. It's not as if Turner's going to hand over the keys and not keep an eye on whoever we hire.

That's why it's called a rumor.

Fran fits all my requirements. I'll take him. Lets hope the bidding war for Johnson didn't just raise Fran's pricetag though.

This is the ticket. We should be able to get his son's kids at least.
