Does anyone with half an ego think this is done. As far as PJ is concerned it maybe done. GF is a businessman, as are most that put $ into this. They are not going to walk away looking like losers. They want to win. They define themselves as winners. They are in so deep now they will not back out. They will up the ante and get a coach that will really be a WOW. This thing has gotten bigger than anyone knew. The next coach will be a bigger WOW than PJ. I have know idea how much GF is worth. If he has anything near Bill Gates, it's around 150 Billion dollars. Bill Ford Jr. is worth around 1.5 Billion dollars. If he is even close to those two $3/4/5 million is nothing to him. I don't expect they will accept anyone that's not a bit higher on the chain. This is going up not down.

Forbes says that both Ford and Ray Hunt are worth $1.5 BILLION.

I get what he is saying. There might be a spec of truth to it.
But they have been fine with our so-so hires in the past....

I am sure they must have some family connections. Does not matter anyway. Both want to win in the game they play.

Phxfan has a good point. These guys are ultra successful and will not settle for losing. This set back will embolden them.

They went out on a limb. They gave the hipe. We feed on it. These guy's are not going to walk away. They are going to the next level. Could even influence business. They got burned. In stock terms, Mottley Fool stated that FMC would burn down their plants before selling. These guy's are in deep, they want a legacy. So try to figure out who is next. Bigger than PJ. I really think this is correct.

No, phxfan, they don't, at least not in any meaningful and/or historic way. Not the POTUS either. This is a different guy whose money came from finance. Specifically, he is the former Founder & Chairman of Golden State Bancorp, which owned CalFed Bank (California Federal) in California (duh), Auto One (in Dallas), and a host of other financial entities. He sold out to Citicorp/Citibank, which is why you see all of those new Citibank branches showing up in California...they were CalFed.

He lives in Dallas, and by and large ran his financial mini-empire from D, not unlike Lamar Hunt did the Chiefs.

He's a very private person, and he is a devoted donor to SMU. But he wants results...period. Guys with that level of success tend to be that way.
Go figure.
