Reasons to be happy.....

The doom and gloom is starting to get to me. Here's a few reasons why we shouldn't be so worked up:

1) We're not Michigan

a) We weren't ranked #5 and lost to a 1-AA team

b) We didn't lose the coach that will be national champion this year because our AD was out of town and wouldn't answer his phone

c) Our university president did not hamstring us out of loyalty to our former coach (thanks for that one PB!)

2) We're not Arkansas

a) We didn't offer our coach a contract extension and then have him turn it down because our fan base is so crazy, he'd rather coach at the worst school in his conference! (worse than Vandy this year!)

b) We didn't have a coach who is incredibly unhappy at Auburn turn us down

c) We didn't have a coach from a mediocre ACC school agree to a deal and blow it off the next day
(Don't get me wrong Grobe is great, but come on, Arkansas getting blown of by Wake--until a few months ago that could never have happened)

d) This isn't the second time that this has happened to our AD
(the Creighton BB coach actually held a press conference in Fayetteville announcing he was coach and then said no thanks the next day.)

3) We are not Georgia Tech

a) We didn't fire a relatively successful coach for not being "flashy" enough only to hire someone equally "un-flashy" (PJ is an improvement, but far from "flashy")

b) We didn't get turned down by our top 3-4 choices (publicly at least)

c) We were not a once proud program with multiple national championships that got into a bidding war for a coach with two of the worst programs in D1 football

c) Our AD didn't put himself in an impossible situation where he basically had to take the coach in a bidding war with two of the worst programs in D1 football. If Duke got him and they ever lost to Duke?

d) Our AD won't get fired if the new coach doesn't win 8 games next year

4) We're not Notre Dame

......do I have to explain? Nevermind, it makes me happy to!

a) We do not have a fat, hoodie wearing coach who ran us into the ground because he coached in a Super Bowl and didn't recruit for us and now can only beat the likes of Duke and Stanford!

b) We can fire our coach if we only beat Duke and Stanford because we do not owe him $10 million dollars

Take heart Mustangs, we are not in such bad shape. Getting played by one big name our contract shopping doesn't mean we're out of the running yet. Save the panic and depression for later--we still may need it!

What??!? Name Calling?? I am serious...how about some NEW "where are the planes" posts? How can we keep up with the action without this info? I am not being cynical..I simply want some updated info, I am sorry that offends you, I just want to know. Hey Peruna11..go walk your dog near the Love Field landing strip and report back with tail #'s!! Can we get a dude over to Moody / Ford to scout out the parking lot and elevators / entrance ramps? What else....who can handle the various hedges / bushes in the Park Cities..any secret meetings going on? NOW is the time for updates, guys....

why dont you go do something instead of whining like all the others? ive been out to Love Field earlier this week and at the stadium almost everyday

How can I help....is there a web site I need to watch? I want to engage here guys....I will fly down to Big D on my Cessena 310 right now if I have to...scout out a burger joint? Hang at Love? Parked car at Ford...just let me know man...GO MUSTANGS!!

Bro..don't take your frustrations out on me....I am serious...what can I do to help. You foam at the mouth with all the plane fllight, dog walking, drain pipe, Joe Paterno, BuzzChat.com, some secretary texted me, in the parking lot now, calling a friend in Miami to climb a fence, etc., etc., etc. posts...I simply want to contribute, and you call me names, come on, dude, you can do better than that...I want to be part of the action....I think I saw Mike Shula at the Burger House today, not sure, looked like him, don't totally buy in on this but, could be,,,,,,GO PONIES!!!

Actually, just did a quick scan of Love field departures again, and nothing stood out. There is some sort of Israeli made jet flying into Omaha..... Creighton doesn't have a football coach though. :wink:

The problem now though is we have no idea where Steve-O is or who Plan L, M, N, and O are, so we don't really have any idea what to track.

Nothing to Honolulu that I've seen!
