OH MY GOD, I misspelled like 2 things...what an idiot I am for not spellchecking my post. I must be a complete moron...
Allright obviously YOU don't know what you're talking about since you can't play a chord on a tuba, so if you really wanna get technical we can.
So now you're saying it's the band's fault, that we can't raise any spirit. Well, we would if people showed up, we can't go get them out of their beds. And often we're referred to as the best show at the stadium.
BTW, I know stuff about fraternities. I'M IN ONE. And I'm SURE it ain't yours
So on both points, spirit and fraternities, I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
Would you like that Humble Pie A La Mode?
Eat my shorts,

The fact of the matter is that you really have no idea what you're talking about. If I am correct, you're speaking for the Mustang band, which is the hub of "SMU Spirit." Can't find any as of late....except for getting drunk on the boulevard...As soon as you guys spark a "chord" with the rest of the student body let me know...cuz until then, you guys will remain worthless as well, didn't want to go this direction, but you just made me. I love you Spaz, you seem to make everything okay.
You love how he relies on stereotypes, yet you make gross generalizations? I wanted no part of this conversation until this bickering about the band began. Now Spaz does NOT represent the Mustang Band, nor do I, nor does any single person. It is a concentrated group effort that takes a long time to get together. In between Saturday morning practice and a parade down the boulevard, we have roughly an hour, which is intended for eating/changing purposes. With all that is going on that day, I'm positive you will not find any one bandsmen plastered at the game because if that's the case, they're kicked out. We have too much pride in ourselves and in our school to come to any game after downing x amount of alcohol. Why? Because we have spirit and pride, yes that's right. Even if no one is at the game to hear us play (which tends to be the case recently), we sure as hell will blow our brains out.
You see, it's hard to "strike a 'chord'" when students don't show up. This weekend, tomorrow, loads of students will be there and it's always nice to have an audience, but this week there will be a twist! (I never said I wouldn't make generalizations. So here are my own, bugger off.) Will they (most, not all) be cheering for SMU Football? No. Will there be some SMU shirts amongst them? No, there will be jerseys! Homecoming is always a great time, but it's sad when a large majority of students show up in jerseys, scream for their nominee, and then leave after the halftime homecoming festivities. Granted some will remain, but a good portion of them will have been drinking on the boulevard with said greek organizations.
You say that you haven't seen any of that SMU Pride as of recent; well the reason why Spaz has gone off on you is BECAUSE of that SMU spirit. We know that our football team is lacking, a lot, but that does not mean that we would go on a nationally-viewed website to express our disgust. I'm not saying what you did was wrong, just highly unfavourable.
Our pride runs very deep. We're not just sticking up for our football team, but specifically for our university.
Oh you gotta love it. The horns, the drums, the noise! It's all for the love of music, for the love of the game.

I'm with TBell mostly on this one. I understand that we're "all Mustangs here," but there comes a time to call a spare a spare. Basically, our football team can't cut it this year. We might, MIGHT, win one game this year, far below our expectations, and our team is just bad. We aren't playing well, the coaching is at many times "questionable," and I think it's just as pointless attacking a ponyfan for speaking his/her mind, as it is, as some claim, attacking the SMU football team.

VP: Hear! Hear!!
SMU gave my son a chance to play D1 football. That chance fell through for a number of reasons, but I won't forget SMU for that opportunity. He has managed to land on his feet in another program, and SMU's scholarship made him attractive to several other coaches. I made this comment in an earlier apology for my own sarcasm, and I felt I needed to let people know I feel for the players on this team. Notice through all this that I never changed my handle, here. Cuz I still am Proud of my ex Pony.
