Personally, I don't care if it's a coordinator

Post by George S. Patton »

If he can demonstrate a strong recruiting history, has a history of being a part of very organized systems and can put a solid staff together, then let it rip.

If it's Missouri's Christenson, OK
If it's Notre Dame's Haywood, OK
If'it's I can't of anybody else, OK

I'm willing to give it a try.

I don't think any member of the Notre Dame coaching staff should be considered

That rule won't sit well with Steve-O, of course, but as a rule, I agree with you!

I want a proven Div. 1 head coach that has won. If a coordinator is hired I am done with this mess.

Auburn's Will Muschamp wouldn't be a bad name to consider either.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

Potential is nothing, performance is everything.

A few weeks ago was the OC at TU mentioned as a possible HC canidate for SMU?
Is he still looking for a HC position? If yes why is he not being considered?

The General's point is well taken, I agree (for what it's worth).

What does anybody know about Kevin Sumlin at OU? He has been mentioned as a finalist at Coogar High.

He is their "safe" hire. Not top of list. Muschamp much higher on list.

yea, its amazing that he was a HS coach 2 years ago...goes to Ark, then spurns them for Tulsa...he did a great job this year...Paul Smith was right behind Graham Harrell in almost every passing category

There are many coordinators I would consider. There are a couple of IAA coaches I would consider. I just never bring them up because I don't believe that is the direction we are going in.

Sometimes, you need to find a great coach rather than let someone else find him and try to overpay to get him to leave.

I don't care if it is a coordinator either. Matter of fact, I hope it is because:

A) There are a lot of quality coordinator's out there with the potential to become HC's.

B) I don't want to see us overpay for a HC

Most people won't admit this, but Tom Rossley is every bit as qualified (if not more) as every HC named on all these lists.

Money isn't going to win out here.....which is normally against most of my philosophies.....but we can't steal a quality HC from any other school b/c we are one of the worst programs in the country.

Orsini should give some of that money back to the alumni (including me) and go hire a quality I-AA coach or a solid coordinator........then work with the school on improving athletic admission standards.
