I hope that we have revisited him. I can see the turndown while waiting for Nebraska, but now is a different day.

First thing, I don't think Tom Osbourn would say that about any University. He is not that kind of man. Turner Gil is like many coaches in D1 football. The word is out on SMU. What the word is, I don't know, but I got a feeling. I agree with you Stallion, Gil would have a great opportunity here to do some great things. What is the problem?
There's no quote there from Osborne about anything. Did I miss something there?
The word is out on SMU, but you don't know what the word is .... then how do you know that's a bad thing?

Tell me a good thing about SMU football the last 18-20 years? I promise you the coaching fraternity knows more than you and I.

We don't know if he is the best coach available. He is the best candidate available. You can't coach until you can win at SMU. We are the measuring stick for coaching? Most coaches don't want to be measured?

For a GUARANTEED $5 million where do I sign up?
There aren't many jobs in America that pay this kind of dough. Nebraska or someone else might come along, then again there isn't a shortage of candidates for the BCS schools. He might have trouble next year at Buffalo and then where is he?
Deal or No Deal! Most of these contestants get too greedy and don't know when to quit. Usually they end up with less than $20k when they had a chance to make $50k to $100k at some point during the game. As a matter of fact, they gave one guy who got $10 (actual dollars) the first time he played, a second chance. Guess what? He doubled his money and made a BLISTERING $20 (actual dollars) the second time Boy did he look STUPID at the end of that game. Just goes to show you that a bird in hand is worth 2 in the BUSH:!: Turner is a fool to not interview for the job given the chance to make this type of coin NOW

I have posted this before but will say it again, Gill was one of the first if not the first candidates that was contacted. At the time he believed he would have a shot a the Nebraska job & as someone just posted doesn't want to move his daughter. The NU job is gone, I hope we have re contacted him. Like stallion & big dad said he could really thrive in Texas recruiting. You would think a million plus dollar a year job his daughter could make the move.

She doesn't have to move. She has a mother, stay in Buffalo if you want. The money will be enough.

It will be tough to bring nebraska back vs their competition = not exactly where the urban players want to hang out. You cant stockpile like you could when Osborne won there.
