I still don't want a coordinator. To me, nothing has changed about who we need since the day Bennett was fired. We need someone who will come in here and cause the football world to take notice. We need someone with the charisma and media savvy to woo recruits and excite the fanbase. Or should I say future-fanbase. A blah coordinator is not going to accomplish that. SMU is a different animal than practically every other opening. A coordinator may be good for Michigan or Arkansas. SMU is different. We don't have the luxury. We need a jumpstart. Just my 2 cents.

BRstang - my fellow coonass - what about Bo Pelini? I think that the key to your point was a "blah " OC or DC. A real raising star might be acceptable. However, all of the HC (current and former) targets mentioned tonight look pretty strong, so we probably won't need to go this route.

If its a coordinator my list starts...and stops...with LSU's Gary Crowton.

That's a real interesting name. I thought about him when I was watching USC-Arizona St. Former college QB, and I want someone who can teach the position very well. He can do it.

The Auburn DC is an interesting name, but we just fired a former DC.

If you go coordinator, then go offense and make sure he has a sound DC.
