Terry Bowden (Read It I have a Question)

If he's such a great coach, walk on water type inspiring personality who will lead our Mustangs, or anybody on to glory please, someone answer me these:

-Why has he had only one formal interview?
-Why has he never been considered here?
-Why has it been practically deathly silent in terms of his name being mentioned?
-Why did he never really interviewed over 9 years?
-Why does he 'suddenly' want to jump back in now?
-Why does he produce Hollywood quality videos of himself coaching on his website to try and appear a more attractive candidate?
-Why isn't his phone ringing?

I'm not saying he wouldn't be a bad coach. I think he would do very well personally, but SOMETHING seems amiss here. And I want to know, even though I won't get to.

The guy was gonna get canned at Auburn, so he quit.

He's had a great TV gig for years. Probably enjoyed the hell out of it.

Now he's ready to coach again, I guess.

Why is no one else interviewing him? Because like you, everyone's thinking something must be wrong.

We are making a big mistake if we don't hire him.

Neuheisel is my close second choice.

I think he initially had a bad taste in his mouth after Auburn, and simply didnt want to get back into coaching. I think he wants back in because he can build a legacy, but if he waits too much longer, he couldn't.

He's been out of coaching for ten years. He might be rusty, he may not have it anymore. No one has been willing to find out yet.

He pissed off prob one of the most important alumni at Auburn...who is prob one of the most influental boosters in college sports, second to T. Boone Pickens....by sleeping with his daughter. He has been blackballed because of it and still is.

I still find it odd that screwing a booster's daughter would have such a negative toll unless he really likes being a broadcaster

There is no indication that T. Boone doesn't care about is. Afterall, his daughter graduated from SMU so I imagine there might be an interest. If there is, Turner has a way of turning it into money! :lol:

I wonder if Bowden isn't like a pro prospect on draft day who is touted by the experts as a top 10 pick and mysteriously drops like a rock on draft day. Loren Woods comes to mind. Some thought he was a top 5 pick and he fell into the second round where the T-wolves who hadn't scouted him took him. Turned out he had a degenerative back disorder and has been an absolute spare his whole career.

I don't get this either. I used to screw a booster's daughter all the time and it never took a negative toll. Of course I wasn't 20 years older than her and the coach of the football team.
