When my Fortune 500 company was looking for a new CEO they did not ask me who I thought they should hire. Nor did they email me every other day to let me know how the search was going. And I was ok with that.

Was it a WOW hire?

Is SMU athletics Fortune 500-ish?

Do Fortune 500 companies fail 20 years runnng?

Would you ask questions if a failing company asked you to stick with them after 20 years?

Stupid comparison.

I am worn out as I know most, if not all of you, are as well. Lets face it, Turner and Orsini have completely botched this coaching search. Fortune 500 companies can fill CEO posts in a matter of days or even hours. There are 117 Div I A schools out there...and we are in our 7th week. It is insulting to all alumni and students.

I'm not buying the party line of hiring the "best coach in America." Orsini was on the ticket today to do damage control and still he sounded clueless! We are nowhere closer today than we were 7 weeks ago. In fact, I say we are even futher away. With Baylor, A&M, GT, and other schools getting press about their coaches, we are getting very little press and what press we are getting is about our inability to hire a coach in a non-bcs conference and losing our recruits!

I think we should schedule a gift exchange because I don't think SMU will give us a coach by Christmas...

As I said on another thread, Orsini is probably now waiting on an NFL coach to complete their season. To start with, hopefully this guy is interested in coaching here.

In fairness, no one from the athletic department ever said we would have a WoW hire. I believe that term was from random blog site and not our buddy SMU Blog. I personally will be getting worried if we don't have a coach by the end of this week.

These are my opinions, but to reply to you, I also believe that these are not baseless claims either. I think I am pretty dead on!

It was Blue Horseshoe that suggested the comparison, not me. Thank you.

What makes you think we are further away from finding a head coach than we were when PB was fired? What makes you say Orsini sounded clueless (yes, I listened to the interview)? Why was it damage control?

looks like the other radio thread was taken down, but several were concerned SO changed his tune from "best coach in america" to "best AVAILABLE coach in america"

looking back at his blog, "available" was his quote all along; at least as far back as Nov. 15.
