Interesting... where's the byline?
Is this by Kate? Or someone else?
I know it was just posted, and that will be rectified soon, but in the midst of this secretive search, it's funny that this article, as of this moment... has no byline.

It's Wednesday's column by Kevin Sherrington.

Took 'em long enough to post that fact.

Weird, though...
If you look at the link that gambino himself posted it does show sherrington's name int... but when you click it - no sherrington. However you go to the DMN site, and scroll down to sherington, and click his article you get the pic (byline).
And here I was 'refreshing' over and over again.

I like this article, I do... all except this bit:
Kevin Sherrington wrote: Whoever the new guy is, he'll inherit unrealistic expectations. Orsini doesn't just want to win; he'd like to return SMU to what he called its "glory years" before the death penalty.
Well, damnit!!!! I want those expectations! Call them unrealistic if you want...but look a South Florida - who? Yeah them. It ain't all that unrealistic.

I look forward to the day that I can tell Kevin 'told ya so'! Kevin's a UofH grad. I'm gonna laugh my a** off if they hire Pardee again.

Well, regardless of his, everyone's anti-SMU bias, he (K-Sherr) is pretty good. Houston puts out a few/some/many? good people. I loathe what he said, but he put it well. I'm always going to give props to people who can write well, even if they say things I disagree with.
We can bag on different Universities all we want, but if someone goes to college, well that's something... but beyond that, people go to different colleges for different reasons. I am going to choose not to hate Sherrington just because he went to U of H.
I am going to choose to be angry that he didn't take a different tone. But who cares? He's giving voice to what we've been saying. He's the soap box. I'd rather it be more positive, but is it here?
No.
But he did give us that nugget.
That grand nugget...... Orsini thinks like we do... he wants to see SMU back! Back to its glory days.
Here's hoping.
Go Mustangs!
Go Orsini!

Orsini says he hasn't offered the job to anyone, not even Navy's Paul Johnson, who opted for Georgia Tech.
Shows you how much we know.

The problem with that is that USF is part of the BCS-BS so their automatically higher, one of those reasons being is their strength of schedule. We aint or never will be nor anyone else. That's why it's a cartel.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

The whole "no offer for PJ" thing is very interesting if true. Why was he in Dallas? Did he make it clear he wasn't interesting while he was visiting? Was Orsini doing him a favor just to boost his offer from GTech?
It sounds like we still know absolutely NOTHING about what is going on with this search. I'm starting to start drinking the koolaid again and thinking Orsini is going to pull something great out of his out-hole.

I think we need to start looking at the coordinators in the NFL with college HC experience. I know Slick Rick but who else?
That would definitely shed light on the delay
