Let's not forget, the defense was great.Amid all the angst of offensive nonproduction there was that great defensive effort. Thanks guys.
Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
Re: Let's not forget, the defense was great.yeah a lot of you people claiming SMU quit owe a big apology to the defense-they played just about as well as they are capable-except for failing to make the big plays when they were handed golden opportunities on 2-3 ocassions

Re: Let's not forget, the defense was great. You're right, The PonyGrad. Those guys played their hearts out. If only Jonas Rutledge had been able to make the two picks that he had in his sights - we'd be sitting here talking about how nice it is to see the Ponies in the win column. I am NOT blaming him for the loss - we win as a team, we lose as a team. But they sure looked like plays he should have made, at least from where I was sitting.
You can tell from my handle where my bias lies (I'm not related to Tate, but he played with my son at Ennis HS -- I've known him a while.) However, even with my bias toward Tate, I was impressed with Phillips. He runs real well, especially in the open field. He doesn't look like he's moving that fast, because his strides are so long, but he can cover a lot of ground. I also believe that the vertical passing game will get better - that long pass just over Blake Warren went more than 50 yards in the air, and he didn't even throw hard -- that was a flick of the wrist. He looks like he has a lot of talent. The passing game will get better.
Re: Let's not forget, the defense was great....one eyed king of a blind country type concept????
Re: Let's not forget, the defense was great. There were two interceptions, yeah there could have been four or five perhaps but one we inside the 10 and we did not get any points.
You can not blame the defense in any way. Counting the game vs. SMU, Fresno averages 324 in total offense and SMU allows on average 375. Fresno was held to 245. That is a great effort. Especially the way the pass defense controlled the game. Go Ponies!!

Re: Let's not forget, the defense was great.I don't know why the Fresno player said we quit. I didn't see it that way. Boise maybe, Fresno no.
It's awfully hard to win when you can't score. You may quote me.
Re: Let's not forget, the defense was great. That Fresno kid who said that is supposed to be great, and he caught one ball all day. He has no room to point fingers at anyone.
