its going to be a cute little Model that can fit on a tabletop. They are still trying to get donations for the toy model.

I built they just use Legos to built it. Though, think how impressive the landscaping will look around the stadium.

Apparently the funding is farther along than even us Mean Green fans suspected.

C'mon... you all should not be critical about this. When UNT and SMU put the proposed series to paper, wouldn't you like to play us in a nice new stadium and not that dump called Fouts Field? Not to worry, even when our stadium is complete, you guys will still have the best Div-I football facilities in all of Dallas county.

The question is... what will happen first? NT picks an architectural firm or SMU finally finds their coach?

If I had to bet, even NTSU has a particular architect they like to work with. Although they obviously arent concerned with the Georgian collegiate style...

I heard you guys were talking about this, and you cracked me up...I'll make it even funnier (which is almost sad!).

I think most of us make fun of the crappy architecture at North Texas more often than you guys do. Our "campus architect" for over 20 years, during the heavy building period, was an old army buddy of the Chancellor's. In his prime, he designed layouts for JC Penney's. He was a real d!ck (and I told him so...heheheh). Instead of putting up some cool-looking stuff, they wanted the campus to look unified...not a bad idea, if the original "look" was decent in the first place.

I got to fight with him and some of the others about our Rec Center, which in my opinion luckily turned out to be one of the only buildings on campus that doesn't look like it was designed by a bunch of retards trying to hump a doorknob.

Though optimistic, I'm sure I'm not in the minority when I say that it would be nice if our piece of crap stadium was replaced by something really cool...but I'm not holding my breath!

I do like the Lego idea though..."What IS this? A center for ANTS???" I think the stadium would have to be at least...THREE TIMES bigger than that. Heheh. Sorry if you don't get the reference ;)

...it probably won't happen but this is one school that could raise its profile with a dedicated student activity fee to build that Stadium. I don't see it happening otherwise.

With the fight over the "Athletics Fee" (which actually wasn't a designated fee, just a designated increase) and the 7 years it took to get our Rec Center to reach fruition, I don't see that happening...but UNT takes advantage of state-guaranteed bonds very often, so if fundraising looks good, we'd have like 30 years to pay it off with a "stadium fund" paid for by fundraisers, concessions, and possibly hookers. Or whatever.

The biggest problem is the fact that the stadium will still be in Denton on the campus. The next problem is the question of what to name it. They already have a Super Pit there so maybe the Super Dump is available.

Not sure that I would want to see what Denton hookers look like.

Actually, the spot would be a good one if the stadium actually looks good. And Denton hookers are pretty much nonexistent, unless you count the "1 drink=sex" rule.

One of our other UNT guys gave me a hard time about the fact that I halfway sided with you guys about this, so I'd like to know 2 things:

1) How many of you have been to the UNT campus since "beautification"?
2) If you have, do you think it made the campus look good, or did it look like something nice next to something crappy...or..."your description here".

His argument is that we have our Rec Center, 1 nice dorm (out of what, eleven?), our new science building, and some fountains and such, which make the few dozen other buildings on our campus not look crappy.

For your entertainment value, another fun tidbit...our Art Building was intended to be 4 floors, but is only 3, because they ran out of money while building it...so there are staircases leading up from the 3rd floor to...wait for it...NOTHING. Unless you count "rarely noticed sex encounter spot on the pretend 4th floor" as something.
I've heard stories.
Trust me, you don't want to know.

Yep, he's right, our campus freaking rocks.

I never thought I would say this about a UNT fan...but I really like this Jesse guy. He's the first UNT poster I've seen that doesn't have his head so far up his (you know what) to see reality.
