The point is that N. Texas is getting some pretty good players due to T. Dodge being the coach. Question: would you take T. Dodge for coach at SMU? I would. Bring with him his son and some of the current recruits. He can coach offense. With the money SMU is willing to pay, he could hire a proven D-coordinator and we would be on the right path towards winning seasons and bowl games.

has 7 players from the DMN Top 100 area list. How about that!
Coach Todd Dodge put recruiting the DFW area as a priority. Looks
like his recruiting efforts are very successful here in the DFW area!
No doubt, there will be more and more DFW talent commiting to North Texas, as well as talent from across the state. Outstanding!

Still don't see him getting players with a lot of offers elsewhere, which to me is more of the key than any rankings or lists they are on. Sure Riley is a great get, but come on. If you can't get your own son....

Dodge's problem may turn out he is too DFW centric. He is getting some players who made decent names for themselves in the papers while in HS, but are they really Div 1 recruits?

Obviously we shall see in a few years, but I personally don't see it happening.

You may be ABSOLUTELY right...but then again I'd take the potential busts he's recruiting out of DFW against the nobody that is signing with SMU currently. Guess you wouldn't?

the players North Texas is getting are reporting offers from much higher profile programs than they ever got before. The "good players" NTSU got in the past often had academic issues. Its an outstanding class for NTSU. Be wary of people that can not have a rational opinion about an opponent because they are blind.

North Texas got another 3 star from a JUCO DB Justin Edwards who originally signed with Iowa out of Garland Naaman Forest with offers from SMU, Tech, TCU, Kansas, and Tulsa. At one point had a Mississippi offer although it was unclear from the report if that was still on the table. North Texas is up to Four 3 stars which is more than all CUSA teams other than UCF. Unlike SMU they have immediately addressed their weakest part of their team with two 3 star DBs.

North Texas now has 5 commitments from players who have received SMU offers-the Metroplex drain in our own backyard has officially begun with yet another program-and quite frankly with both Graham and Dodge-I told ya so first.

BUT, should we hire a high profile coach, then my guess is we get some looks, but maybe from prospects other than what NTSU has. Again, wishful thinking, but you never know.........

North Texas got another quality CB JUCO commitment from Adryan Adams who at least was scheduled to visit A&M this weekend. Also recruited by Kansas St., Kansas, Oklahoma St. and Tulsa. Tulsa offered a visit. Not sure if this is the full story but he said he had to cancel the trip due to poor weather in Oklahoma. He said the Aggies tried to reschedule for later this week before signing date but he got tired of trying to reschedule and just committed to North Texas. Not sure-could be a cover story but at least the Aggies were interested enough to offer a visit. I'd settle for a recruit that A&M offered a visit to. Rated a 4 star by Scout and but only a 5.2 2 Star by Rivals. This kid originally was from Millwood Oklahoma-where Corey Muse was from. SMU generally is always in the mix with Millwood kids-wouldn't be surprised if we could have been with him.

Damn, you sure do get your kicks off telling people "I told you so". Why don't you get permission from Orsini to contact recruits for us?

Guess he had another offer, huh? Or are you going to say that TCU never wanted him in the first place?
