Non Conference Schedule 2008

Postby Footballrobot » Sun Dec 16, 2007 12:30 pm

Does anyone know what it's looking like next year?

Also, I hear from credible source close to the program that we're honing in on Paul Johnson....press conference on Monday.
Wait...isn't she that great big fat person?

We travel to Navy next season.

I think we also play Texas Tech in Lubbock next season.

Texas State? You mean the Texas State Armadillos? Didn't their program get shut down for cheating too. I also heard their QB is like 38 years old and used to be on Quantum Leap?

I'm just glad we don't have to play the team from the prison in Necessary Roughness.

Have you ever seen Necessary Roughness? You don't remember the scene where the Fighting Armadillos scrimmage the team from the prison made up of a host of cameos: Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Earl Campbell, [deleted] Butkus, Tony Dorsett, Ed 'Too Tall' Jones, Herschel Walker, Jim Kelly, and Randy White?

Fumble, fumble-ay-ya, fumblerooskie

The prison guard that gets off of the bus before the prison team members was the coach of UNT at the time...Dennis Parker...took Marshall TX to 5A championship in 1990 as the capstone on a 3 year undefeated district program with successive runs deep into the playoffs.

His Offensive Coordinator? Todd Dodge

Nice trivia!

Homecoming 2008: Todd Dodge leads the Mustangs to victory over TSU. And Kathy Ireland is the grand marshal of the homecoming parade.

More trivia from Necessary Roughness:

The school in the movie is called Texas State. At the time the movie was filmed, there was no Texas State University. There was Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, though. Several years ago, SWTSU changed its name to Texas State University - San Marcos. Their mascot is the Bobcats. SMU is scheduled to play TSU-SM next season. TSU-SM is a member of the Southland Conference in Div. 1 FCS (formerly Div. 1-AA). The Bobcats have flirted with the idea of petitioning the NCAA for Div. 1 FBS status for the past few years.

The colors of the team's uniforms in Necessary Roughness are green & white. Texas State University's team colors are maroon & gold. However, the movie was filmed on the campus of...the University of North Texas whose colors are...green & white.
