I refuse to believe that Orsini would make this move. Remember his job is on the line with this hire too. He's not going to put the program and his career in the hands of someone who ran Miami into the ground after winning an MNC with another guys players......right?!?!?!
Back off Warchild seriously.

Calm down JT Coker aint coming here. I have mentioned several time that the won with someone elses players is a cop out. You still have to play the game. Cokers second or third year at Miami he lost his recruiting coordinator and that was the downfall of what he was trying to do. He is a winner, but not the type SMU alumni and fan base are use to. He won't get hired here. CJ interview.

yea i know its a possibility he isnt coming here but people on this board complain all the [deleted] time about wanting a coach who can come in here and give us results, instant or not...they want a coach who can win championships and bowl games...
and when news breaks out that we interviewed a former NC coach, people start badmouthing this interview and the coach...its ridiculous and i just got fed up with flaky people on this board.
i for one am not fully supporting coker as our next coach nor am i trying to stand up for the old man...but he can give up results and bowl games and wins ... isnt that what you people wnat here?

Hiring Larry Coker would be the equivalent of trading Tony Romo for Trent Dilfer b/c he has won a Super Bowl.

I think it also goes to the fact this Coker is a huge let down. If it is Coker, you would still have people upset, but probably not to the scale it will be if he is hired 8 weeks later than he could have been hired. Orsini has now forced himself into a corner and has to make a huge hire after the longest coaching search ever. Coker is a downer, but it is a huge downer to name him after 8 weeks of delay when he could have been announced and started recruiting way, way, way earlier.

i think that might be the best thing for us still. Get the biggest name out there...Cokers name is big, mainly because the NC/Miami ties...get a big name as new coach, and try to steal all the recruits you can...im sure he still knows a few HS players in Miami that he could bring here.

Hopefully, he would know a few high school coaches in Oklahoma and Texas based on his time in coaching in Oklahoma that would funnel their top recruits to us!

Coker = Incredible Hire. Forgive me if I'm wrong but didn't he win a bowl game in his worst season? I dont care who you have, you have to be a good coach to win a national championship.(No matter what kind of talent you have)
The sole export of Chuck Norris is pain
