Coaching Search Becoming Comical

Postby Billy Joe » Mon Dec 17, 2007 5:59 pm

I find my self hoping that the coaching search continues to drag on past the new year. It is becoming fun in a way.....only at SMU. Remember, SMU has not been one of the worst football programs in Division 1-A for the past 20 years by accident.

What do you mean becoming funny???? It is laughable! WE have been    all over the place. Yet no coach. Consider the poor kinds on the team going back to their homes for Christmas having to put up with the jokes etc from former high school team mates. Very Sad !

Don't feel sorry for the poor kids. They are getting their school paid for at a very expensive school. Again, the coaching search is becoming comical.

I hope you don't have to laugh your [deleted] off. Surely somebody is already locked in.

With Bennett our program was a joke. Imagine the hard time players got from their friends when they signed with SMU only to follow that with a 1-10 season.
Our program is dead.
We can all hope and pray that Orsini has an A+ coach because this is the most critical hire in the history of SMU football.
Orsini himself said that if he were AD at SMU for 100 years there would be no bigger decision than this one.

I hope and pray it is a great one. Because if he brings us a Larry Coker retread - the last bit of remaining air will go out of the balloon.

As I have said on 2,000 occasions, if you're going to be a fan of the mustangs, you MUST have a sense of humor. A coaching search by the mustangs is no different....

Regarding this coaching search...I do have to say it has extended interest in SMU football well beyond it's usual time on the calendar. I'd rather have the misguided hope of Orsini hitting a homerun with a program changer coach than actually announcing the actual hire of a loser like Coker.

As soon as a hire like that is done until next season starts.

Talk about being negative. Do you guys want this program to succeed? We need a coach and Paul P. is it. Press Conference tomorrow.

How much $$$ do you want to bet that there will *not* be a news conference tomorrow announcing SMU's new head football coach?
