Ha! You're right! He sucks too then. What were they thinking in Norman when they didn't fire him for going 8-4?

No, but he went 8-4 in 2005.

I don't know if you can name a coach other than Tom Osborne that didn't have at least one season with less than 9 wins.

Hell, Barry Switzer went 7-4-1 in 1981, and he won 3 national championships!

I very much want to see this, but I have been brainwashed by some posters that his .800 winning percentage is a sham, he was simply a bus driver for a National Championship, and the he looks too old to be the face of SMU. Guess he's just not a fit with those credentials.

Yes, SMU should only have a coach who wins 10 games a year like Mack Brown. We have earned that right. (tongue firmly planted in cheek)
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

I'm going on a limb here. But Coker and Barnett are both better names than Phil Bennett was when we hired him. They are both nationally known names who know what it takes to win. I would be happy with either one of them. My preference would be Barnett, but I would not sneeze at Coker and would welcome him as our coac (of course reserving the right to say, I wanted Barnett, if he doesn't win). I would certainly take Coker over Dodge, Gill, Christiansen, Mason, Bowden, or Neuheisel- after watching his Ravens offense get stuffed by the Dolphins).
