Sour Grapes...He did nothing put bring your team back from obscurity and failure...He is the only reason why people even talk about TCU football (oh...and LT...who he recruited)...I have no problem with a coach who comes in and fixes us and bolts for better pay/job...It happens in the business world everyday...New CEO comes in to fix a problem, fixes it, then leaves for the next place...Everyone wins...Last time I checked, TCU is still having seasons worth mentioning...

Fran did not recruit LT to TCU. He wasn't even at TCU until LT's 2nd season.

Please don't let facts get in the way of a good argument

Go into the athletic department office, checkbook in hand of course, ask for a tuna on rye with potato salad. They'll know what you're talking about. Write the check for $1911, hand it to them. Then you're set, they'll wait until the coast is clear and enter your name on the ultra, top secret legal pad where all the Super Deluxe Pony Fans names are.

Now that's a good recruiter!
He must have used the Jedi mind trick. He willed him to TCU, knowing that Sullivan would be fired a year later and he would replace him. Fran's a freakin' genius!
With A&M locked into paying Fran $1.8, SMU could get one hell of a deal paying $100,000 (which is probably avg for teams with less than 10,000 attendance).
Then back-end load the deal so he gets $3 million after 2010 when A&M stops paying him the $1.8 a year.
Pretty cool to have aggies paying for your free coach.
And of course it is always fun to see aggies lose money and do dumb stuff.

TCU poster, you are a loser. No one cares what you say. Go post on your own damn board about how SMU kicked your rear in B-ball this year with a bunch of freshman. Oh yeah, I banged your mom last night.
No he didn't recruit LT but he was th No. 1 non-BCS recruiter in the Country and he left the cupboard full with a surprisingly high number of All-Conference players and NFL Draftees. The superficial poster willpoint to LT and say he did it all. That couldn't be further from the truth.

That's fine but just give him a 2 or 3 year deal and don't renew his contract unless he wins 10 games per year.

Yes, Fran's asking price is at an all-time low right now. If he's the best we can do (and we can do much worse), then let's do the deal. We'll get him on the cheap compared to what we might have paid for him.

Wow, that was very articulate. way to represent our school. He posted with what appeared to be a supportive comment, and you had this to say?
We hardly 'kicked their rear" too. the game was even until about 5 min left in the second half, and we almost blew that lead.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Fran is a mediocre coach at best. And we have a chance to hire a coach with a super record and a National Championship. What are we thinking? Or are we thinking? Sure at 59 he looks older than that, (so does Fran) but who cares? The man can either coach well or hire coordinators who can. We could use a little positive national recognition.
