This add-ran u. "bitterness"

floors me.....WAY TO GO, tcu!! Well done!! If we weren't so freaking arrogant / self centered / inclusionary / stupid / short sighted...maybe we would be right with 'em, but, we are now firmly entrenched with the "have nots", the non BCS kids, the one eyed king of a blind country....what did we expect? What did you expect tcu to do, heck, they spent $250,000 (C-USA fees) to distance themselves from us,etc., years ago...I envy their journey, I hope they knock the snot out of Louisville!!

inclusionary? Eh? I doubt you meant that, but in one way, SMU probably was too inclusionary. By tying ourselves to Rice and Tulsa as a package which we no doubt did, we drove the Froggies away. SMU was the only of the 3 to vote against a binding WAC agreement. By deduction, you can assume we were in the lead on this CUSA move. Despite all of the things you point out, we might have snuck into CUSA without a big stink by ourselves or with just Tulsa. The 3 of us together are like Revenge of the Nerds showing up at the Theta house. Staying with Tulsa and Rice was the right thing to do, it had integrity all over it. But in the end the results were predictable.

I have a hard time understanding all this petty jealousy, too. We sit here and complain about the BCS and suddenly TCU is in a position to burst that bubble (unfortunately for them, the fact they have us on the schedule might be what keeps them out of the top 6 even with a 12-0 finish). If it was anyone but TCU, everyone would be pulling for them.

The fact is that the MWC, by adding TCU, Boise, Fresno & Hawaii could position themselves as a very strong non-BCS group. Who knows what those guys are thinking, but I'd be surprised if they sit back and let CUSA take on a higher visibility with it's championship game. Look what that has done for the MAC. Losing Marshall is going to hurt the MAC and along with USM, ECU, UCF, Memphis & UAB they will help form a pretty decent CUSA-east. It's up to SMU, Tulsa & Rice to improve and make the CUSA-west relevant on the college football landscape.

I don't blame TCU if they leave and I'm sure they are having to weigh a lot of issues if that decision point comes. Bottom line is that we will continue to play them regardless of conference affiliation. CUSA is a good move for us and we can only hope to soon be competitive with TCU. We shouldn't be hoping the froggies drop off. We should be focused on improving to their level. The annual SMU/TCU game should be about who is the true top 25 program and who is the pretender (not unlike the MAC game between Miami-Ohio and BGSU last night. Two good teams playing in front of a packed house, albeit only 28,000 to fill Miami-Ohio's stadium. We are all reminded why we are non-BCS!!!

I hope TCU kicks Louisville's BUTT because it embarrasses SMU fans like Dandy Don who now face the prospect of facing an 11-0 Top 10 ranked possibly BCS TCU v. a 0-11 No. 1 in the Sports Illustrated Bottom 10 SMU. Question is will any of you bear to sit through that fiasco as about 20,000 TCU fans take over our stadium? The Mustang Club Box had about 15% attendance between the 40-50 yard line last week-and these are our big supporters.

I want TCU 11-0 coming into Dallas. They will sellout Ford Stadium and hopefully we can ruin that perfect 12-0 season. As far as us ruining their BCS bid, no way. They are undefeated at this point and can't even break into the Top 6 in the AP U/e polls and THEY HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED US YET. The press knows that they have beaten nothing but cupcakes up to this point and won't rank them any higher. Without a poll ranking in the top 6, the strength of schedule calculation is pretty irrelevent. They are as high as 9th in the BCS because they don't have a loss contrasted with higher ranked teams that do have a loss. The strength of schedule may cost them half a point in the BCS, but being undefeated more than compensates for that. All they need is for the Press to decide they are worthy of a top 6 ranking and of course, beat us and Louisville. I don't see the Press putting them in the Top 6.

I think if they beat us by over 200, they might get little boost in the rankings but a mere 60-70 point spread won't help them.

I think its easier for some of you out of town guys who won't be at the game to hope for an 11-0 TCU, with their fans filling up our stadium. I will be there, and I can tell you I am not looking forward to the experience. Yes, it would be a great upset if it happened. But its obviously more likely that the Frog fans would tear down our goalposts after the game, the ultimate cherry on their season. Gosh, I hope it doesn't come to that, but in a strange way it might be the bitter pill we need to swallow to get competitive in the future.

Please stop this "if we were not on their schedule" crap. TCU is in 9th place with their crappy schedule. If they had the best SOS in the country they would be in 9th place. Take a look at the detailed standings, they are more than 4 points, about the max for SOS, away from 8th. We will not significantly change their position unless we beat them. If they win out you can count on them being in 6th place or better. Mark my words. (But I do not expect them to win out.)
