From the ESPN WVU message boards:

"anyone but bowden. unless the first name is tommy. this would be an awful hire, someone who has been out of coaching so long, might as well hire Don Nehlen...at least he has coached this century."

"I know there are those who have a problem with Bowden's layoff but, what has Holliday done to warrant the job. The guy's been coaching for over two decades and, to my knowledge, hasn't even been rumored to have been considered for a head coaching job. It's got to be more than having a connection with the State. Foster from VA Tech loks good to me. I hope they give him some SERIOUS consideration. It can't just be about bringing a former player/coach/residen t home. It's got to be about getting the best guy avalable."

"Wow...talk about being handed a job. Bowden hasn't coached in nine years and is about to land the head coaching job of a top ten team. Plus he won with Pat Dye's recruits at Auburn. What about all the coaches that have put in time to get overlooked by the WV adminstration? What about interviewing a minority coach that has "Put in Work"? This will be a complete joke if he get's the head coaching job."

"Not a Bowden PLEASE."

"The Bowden name alone is worth a hire anywhere in the country especially in West Virginia but not in this case. Doc Holliday would be the best choice for WVU he has all the coaching ability as Bowden but also has a great recruiting background, Bowden is not so much a recruiter as an x's and o's kinda coach, you gotta have the players to execute those x's and o's to win and Doc Holliday can bring that to the Mountaineers."

"No Offense to Terry, but we can do way better than him. He's been out of the game too long, I'm sorry but I want someone with a recent winning track record, and bowl history. Even in his past, Terry didn't have a great Bowl record. Not enough space to post my 15 top criteria here but Bowden doesn't even get 10 of 15 (6), he's not the best candidate and WVU can do better than him or Doc Holiday, they just have to keep looking and be patient. As for me I like Bud Foster, Christ Peterson, Frank Solich, Mike Lockley, over Bowden and Holliday. No"

"I really want to know why some of you think [Terry Bowden] is the one for the job. I just can't understand why he is getting so much support. I think he will hurt all the progress this program has made. Do you guys really think that he will be able to recruit graet players like we have now? Look what he did at Auburn...got handed the keys to a team with great talent, had 2 great seasons then sent the team right in the crapper. Please explain to me why myself and every other non-Bowden fan should want this guy?"

"The football team was on probation and could not recruit well. That is why the team went in the crapper. As for me I'm leaning towards Holiday. After reading some things about how a good recruiter he is. I'm starting to be sold on him. I think bringing a big name would only hurt the team in the long run."

"I'm a huge supporter for Bowden as Head Coach..... at Marshall."

I think I've found our anti-selves (like anti-matter).
