That usually means a decision is near.

I knew the SMU job was too good to pass up.

Welcome Coach Chow, you have chosen nicely.

"We've decided to go in another direction."

"Good, because I have great ideas for taking this company in all kinds of directions."

"By 'another direction', we mean away from you."

Al Golden? If that's their choice, that's baffling. No better than Dorrell...

I would actually it's worse. He's only won 5 games as a head coach.

That is more than they won the last three years before he got there . . . combined.

Yeah but Dorrell had more to work with when he got to UCLA. Temple football is a bigger joke than SMU football.

To top it off, 4 wins in a season ties the most successful seasons they have had since 1997.

I'm not saying he's done a bad job at Temple. I know they are the worst D-IA football program there is (contrary to what some claim) and it is an accomplishment to get Temple to win any games and get any recruits to want to go there. To me, this just seems like a Turner Gill-like scenario. A new coach takes a really bad MAC team from the cellar to a handful of wins and suddenly they are saints. What's to say if Golden stayed at Temple next year and they went 1-11 again? "If you wanna crown him, then go ahead crown his @$$."

Temple beat four teams, three at home. The wins were by an average of 5.5 pts apiece. Buffalo beat them 42-7 at home, but it was in the second game of the year. A good first year but worthy of UCLA?? They're going cheap.

BTW, Buffalo averaged about 13K fans this year despite having a new coach and a bit of a turnaround and hosting a mighty BCS team (Baylor).

And 3 more than we had this season.
