Not only that, the quote is ridiculously out of context and regards just going in and deposing Sadam in 1990 without the intent to occupy and rebuild which is what is happenning now.

One can play all sorts of games with quotes. Clinton, Gore etc saying that Saddam had WMD. If you don't think 911 was a huge hit on our economy, you haven't been paying attention. It drained trillions of dollars from productive pursuits. If you want to talk about how the war was promulgated, that is fair but don't play the quote card. It is disingeuous for both Republicans and Dems to do so. We may have entered for the wrong reasons but we are there and to withdraw would be the death of any hope for freedom in the middle east. Now- let's quit with the politics which have no place on this board.

Please edit your posts and delete this way off topic junj about politics.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Never said anything about 9/11 not damaging the economy; the ignoramus in you took control and you decided to make that one up yourself... and no all the variables are not Bush's fault, but at the end of the day he is accountable for the state of the country. (just as his father took the hit for inheriting Reagan's trickledown mess; and we took out Grey Davis for the state economy here). That is why it I used "Bush economy" - ultimately, he is responsible.

As for the "hope for freedom", that was hilarious; I thank you for that laugh. My wife is the great granddaughter of E.P. Halleburton... if you honestly think that military campaign (or the OPEC war in 1991) was about freedom, WMD or an “axis of evil,” you're head is seven feet up your [deleted].

Here's to hoping the troops return safe... back to SMU.
