A PredictionIn 2010, after several 6-6 seasons and faltering attendance, TCU goes on a rampage and wins the MWC title and loses a tough 6 overtime game to SMU in the Liberty Bowl. Afterward TCU is approached by the MAC who has had three teams receive BCS bowl bids in the past four years (2010). TCU figures that the MAC is now their stepping stone to the elusive BCS bid they feel they deserve. So they pay $1 Million to leave the MWC and pay $2 Million to join the MAC. SMU, Rice, UH, and Tulsa all sit back and laugh.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: A PredictionI've got a better idea. Let's win the game on Nov 29th and laugh now.
We are far from laughing at anyone...at the monment. we are 0-9 lets concentrate on changing that before we worry about which league some other school needs to go to. Based on results over the last 6 years, it looks like their AD knows pretty well what to do for them. Meanwhile we can't seem to get out of our own way to win at least a couple of games each year. Compare us to Tulsa, same league, same academics, but what they picked a better coach? they have lax rules? Tell me what the difference is
Re: A PredictionSMU has a better reputation.

Middle name \"Period\" Last name.... \"T\"
Re: A Predictiondon't focus on the trees and miss the Forest. Tulsa is something like 1-6 against SMU since we joined the WAC. Don't emulate Tulsa-look at the Big Picture-what are your goals-are they to be like Tulsa trying for something like their first winning season in 10 years or would you rather be going for your 6th straight bowl game and knocking on the BCS door. The answer to that question goes a long way toward determining the Model which you should support to reach whichever goal you chose.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: A PredictionGo Stallion...
I wrote a multi page letter to Dr. Turner a while back going over what I thought SMU needed to do. Some things have and are happening BUT We need JUCO players and majors that are more interesting to sports minded people. Yes, I received a BA Physilcal Education and have been a coach. That's only one that would help. I suggested " Sports Management" Between some law/contract classes and the Cox school of business.. Logical yes. Athletics IS the # advertising/promotional activity for a university - IT'S TRUE Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
Re: A PredictionThis is a good idea, I know we are not trying to emulate Tulsa but they have/had a Sports Administration major in the School of Business, it was very popular with athletes and it was a good major. There are a lot of A.D./Asst. A.D. jobs out there now not only in colleges but most of the top high school divisions in each state have very high paying jobs. There is a lot of applications for the admin. major, dovetail that with SMU's education certification and you will cover most athletes.
Re: A PredictionMr Stallion - we agree more than you might think. My point is before we bemoan TCU, we now have to pass Tulsa (based only this season). I guess Tulsa could fall to 0-9 next year, but who knows.
I'll be behind you Phil when you start winning, until then I'll be in the stands rooting on the players, wondering if another coach could get more results
