June Jones...from DMN
There's not much the other post did not cover, but thought it was worth a post:

SMU is interested in Hawaii coach June Jones as its new football coach, according to a source with knowledge of the school's search.
The interest may help explain why SMU is still looking for a coach despite firing Phil Bennett on Oct. 28.
Jones has led Hawaii to a 12-0 record and the Allstate Sugar Bowl â€" one of five Bowl Championship Series games â€" against Georgia on Jan. 1 at the Louisiana Superdome.
A Hawaii spokesman could not be reached Monday evening, though as recently as last week, SMU had not asked Hawaii for permission to speak with Jones. SMU has declined comment on candidates while its search is ongoing.
Jones is known for his prolific run-and-shoot offense that helped quarterback Colt Brennan become a Heisman finalist this season. He is 76-40 in nine seasons at Hawaii.
Prior to revamping the Warriors in 1999, Jones spent 12 years in the NFL, including head coaching jobs at Atlanta and San Diego.
Jones, who spent part of his collegiate career playing at Hawaii, was also an assistant with the Houston Oilers.
Jones' current five-year, $4-million deal with Hawaii reportedly ends in July, and no new deal has been reached.
SMU athletic director Steve Orsini has raised around $10 million for the new coach and staff.
SMU, which has had only two non-losing seasons since 1989, has also reportedly interviewed former Miami coach Larry Coker and had contact with former Texas A&M coach Dennis Franchione.
Former Navy coach Paul Johnson interviewed in Dallas days before accepting the Georgia Tech job.

If you've watched they typically pass like 50 times a game. Fun to watch.
Last game vs Washington: TURNTILE ATTENDANCE: 49,655
Run and Shoot...any chance he brings Rossley back as the OC?
I've seen them play a few games and they are exciting to watch, but can he recruit Texas...especially at SMU?
...........June Jones is an excellent coach who turned Hawaii around in first year. As an ex NFL coach Jones knows talent and he has recruited very well at Hawaii along with finding alot of talented players who were not highly recruited. He knows what he is doing.....The real question is would he really come to SMU ??? One thing for sure, it is a huge challenge and the job comes with a huge paycheck !

Of course he can. Players want the opportunity to put up big numbers and June Jones has proven he can put players in a position to succeed. Also he coached with the Oilers so he's not foreign to Texas.

The more I see of this guy, the more I like him.
June Jones appears to be a bit kocky.
June Jones says whats on his mind.
He may be just the guy to finally stand up to the faculty
and others at SMU that want to keep the football team
as an after-thought.
June Jones is outspoken and would attract attention
to SMU that could turn into fans and recruits. The
people of Dallas would all know pretty quick who
the SMU coach was.
SMU being basically an unknown in a non-BCS conference
needs an outspoken coach with a unique high scoring exciting
offense that will attract fans and players that want to put up
high numbers.
Yeah, ok why would he come?
After all he is with an undeafeated team about to play in a BCS Bowl.
Sure it may be crazy, but Junes Jones may be just crazy enough to do it.
His contract runs out soon and almost all the other jobs have been filled.
SMU could double his pay.
Hawaii has a state income tax, Texas does not.
June Jones has complained about the dated facilities at Hawaii and
the lack of funds to fix these problems.
SMU has a new stadium and great facilities and continues
to spend more money on new state of the art additions.
He loathes the fact that when Hawaii plays half their games
most of the powerful east coast press is already asleep and
they dont even make the paper the following day in most of
the United States. To most of the press and fans who are asleep
when Hawaii plays many of their games Hawaii is a big unknown.
Thats not going to change.
If June Jones leaves Hawaii and then turns SMU around with his
offense in CUSA, he is the "big hero" and would always be known
as "the guy that turned around SMU". At that point he could stay
or be in line for a big program.
We'll see what happens......
