Question For Cowboy Fans:

Postby gambino87 » Wed Dec 26, 2007 4:17 pm

Are the Cowboys going to just let the Redskins win? I'm a huge Viking fan and need to see the Skins go down so the Vikes can get that last wild card spot and am worried Wade Philips is just going to play conservatively as to not hurt any of his players including 2nd stringers. All I have to say to that is, if the Skins get in - watch out Cowboys. So please Cowboys - beat the skins. Thanks

The Cowboys are not going to leg the Redskins win. That said, Dallas isn't going to play their starters more than a half at most. However, I'm already on record for saying that will be enough to beat the Skins.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Too bad Gambino. Your team didn't get it done last Sunday. Now they want help to back in. FYI, they also need the Saints to lose as well. Ain't gonna happen, better luck next year.

Wade Phillips gave an interview saying he wants to be 14-2, which would be the best record the Cowboys have ever had. TO certainly wont play, and I don't expect Romo to play more than 1 or 2 quarters, maybe enough to try to find Terry Glenn a couple times. Theres a reason the Redskins are 9 1/2 point favorites though.

They should be favored. The Skins have everything to play for and have played very well of late. The Cowboys have nothing to play for except the hope of escaping completely healthy, and have zero incentive.

Put it this way: Justin Rogers will be on the field for more plays than Tony Romo, who could slip into the suites to hang with Jessica Simpson and it wouldn't matter in the slightest. Dallas should treat this game like the first of two bye weeks.

they actually don't need the saints to lose. all they need is a win and a skins loss. i think the boys will still win against the skins. they really just are not a very good team. go vikings

The Skins aren't a good team? I believe they beat the Vikings this past weekend.

Here is one theory: the Skins have lost at least 4 games this year by not being able to hang on to leads late in the second half. They were beating the Cowboys at Texas Stadium until about halfway through the 3rd quarter. They are a first half team, and the Cowboys are second half team. The Redskins are favored by 8 (last time I checked), they have something to play for, TO will probably not play leaving all the rest of the Cowboys receivers to fend for themselves, and Romo has a hurt thumb.

All that to me adds up to a Skins win at home!

Oh yeah, and Roy Williams will be back, so expect the Cowboys pass coverage to suck again. Helloooooooooo, Chris Cooley!

And what do you call Todd Collins, H.B. Blades, Reed Doughty, etc. -- backups one and all, and the makeshift "starters" the Cowboys can brag about beating if they pull off the win Sunday.

i'm pretty sure you won't hear many cowboys fans bragging about this one either way. in case you missed it, we've locked up the #1 spot in the nfc and this game means absolutely nothing.

i'm glad you get to think it's an important game though. this is the equivalent of a preseason game for us.

What's this "we" and "you" crap? I don't live in D.C., and I'm not a Skins fan. I'm just pointing out that "they" are playing just as many backups as "we" are. Every Cowboy who has a slightly significant role on this team will be in a baseball cap by halftime. The only difference is "they" have a lot more to play for, and therefore should win, but with as many bodies as both teams are missing, neither team should crow a whole lot after winning this game. Just don't make it sound like Dallas is rolling out some JV squad to play the best Washington has ever had - the reason this rivalry is what it is is because of the history of BOTH teams winning.

But "preseason"? Please.

- Romo and Terry Glenn have to get their timing down, fast, because if T.O.'s ankle doesn't mend - and with a high ankle sprain (with that prima donna, who knows) - there's no telling if it'll be two weeks or two months.

- Won't matter much in this game, but Dallas has to find a safety who can cover someone. Williams can't cover a fire hydrant, Keith Davis isn't much better ... Hamlin is tolerable and Watkins is still hurt (see: "ankle sprain, high")

- Dallas has to play sharp, at least a little, or risk serious complacency going into the playoffs. Not likely, but possible.

Romo said he wants to play the whole game.

Dale Hansen said last night that's what happens when you hang around Jessica Simpson. You start saying really stupid things.
