So just hire Fran?

Even if Orsini had brought somone in sooner this years recruiting class was not going to be very good because the incoming coach would have had little time to do much and frankly PB had done little to bring in a decent class while he was here this fall anyway. So there was very little to build on for any incoming coach. A new coach can't produce miracles in what ,2 months max?

A lot of what you are saying is true. No coach was going to come in and give SMU a great class. However, the delay has hurt the class. I have no doubt about that. How much did it hurt? Time will tell. There are coaches out there that you could hire today that would help mitigate things. Fran for example.
