Having seen both play in person, several times, I feel fully qualified to disagree. Faucette was a great player at Maryland, but Viloria was sensational at SMU, too. The differences were the stature of the programs and the physical size of the two. Was Faucette better? Sure - he also is 5 or 6 inches taller and probably had 20-plus pounds on Viloria. But there's a reason he lasted until the 10th round. He was very productive, and I think was leading the NFL in tackles at the time of the injury that ended his career. But Viloria was an awesome player, too, and he was closer to Faucette than Faucette was to Merriman.

He is a real nice guy. We will continue to loose and everybody else can continue to make fun of our school.....Doesn't that sound great ? NO (F) Rick is a GREAT COACH who we could WIN with......This hire is important and we have to get a great coach and that is the only important issue....He is not my first choice either, but SMU will not even look at my Top 2 because of the nice guy issue...
